Coaching is more than simply telling a person which exercises to do on any given day. A good coach should demonstrate precise technical understanding of the exercises being taught. A coach must be able to offer personalized corrections, while motivating the individual and the group as well as being capable of programming and adapting each workout to the needs of their students.
